The traditional tribal design features three vertical chains of linked stepped diamonds running the length of a blue central field, outlined in rust and filled with smaller multicoloured diamonds. Layered borders frame the field: a cream band of small diamonds, a black band of yellow, teal and purple motifs, and a rust outer border edged in cream.

Periwinkle and royal blue establish the principal colour of the central field. Rust red and burnt orange outline the diamond chains and form the outer border. Turquoise, purple and golden yellow add bright accents within the motifs, while black, cream and grey define the layered borders.

Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn.
