Measuring 298cm x 213cm, this Afghan flatweave wool rug features a balanced combination of cream and ivory, muted slate blue, rust, sage green, mustard, olive green, dusty pink, mauve, camel and touches of dark navy.
The geometric tribal design is arranged in an all-over diamond pattern, with diagonal rows of repeating diamond compartments extending across the central field. Each compartment contains a stylised angular tribal motif, while a substantial surrounding border incorporates repeating diamonds, zigzags and other geometric elements that add definition and structure to the composition.
Cream and ivory establish the dominant foundation, creating generous lighter areas throughout the central field and geometric motifs, balanced by muted slate blue across the wide outer border and repeated diamond detailing. Rust, sage green, mustard and olive introduce earthy warmth and colour, while dusty pink, mauve, camel and touches of dark navy provide additional depth and variation.
