Measuring 296cm x 88cm, this Afghan flatweave wool runner features a warm combination of deep rust and brick red, burnt orange and terracotta, muted teal, mustard, cream, burgundy, taupe, muted blue-grey and touches of golden orange.
The geometric tribal design is arranged in a linear sequence of large diamond medallions extending along the length of the runner. Strong repeating chevron and zigzag bands surround the medallions, while smaller diamonds and angular tribal motifs fill the central forms and borders, creating a richly detailed and structured composition.
Deep rust and brick red establish the dominant foundation, appearing extensively throughout the background, outer border, zigzag structure and geometric outlines, balanced by burnt orange and terracotta across the central medallions, surrounding forms and border detailing. Muted teal and mustard introduce contrasting earthy colour, while cream, burgundy, taupe, muted blue-grey and touches of golden orange provide additional depth and variation. This richly layered palette pairs naturally with timber, stone, woven fibres and other warm neutral furnishings.
Made in Afghanistan from wool, the runner uses traditional flatweave construction to create the distinctive woven texture and low-profile finish associated with kilim rugs.
