Measuring 150cm x 200cm, this handmade flatweave wool rug combines stone grey and charcoal with natural ivory, warm taupe and softly layered neutral tones.
The design features an open geometric field centred around three prominent stepped diamond medallions arranged vertically through the rug. Smaller tribal motifs, crosses and angular geometric symbols are distributed around the medallions, creating visual interest while preserving a clean and uncluttered composition.
Stone grey establishes the dominant foundation, complemented by charcoal and slate-grey detailing that adds definition and depth. Natural ivory provides the principal contrast across the central medallions, tribal motifs and border highlights, while warm taupe, greige and mushroom tones soften the transition between the lighter and darker elements.
Decorative side borders incorporate stepped geometric detailing inspired by traditional tribal weaving, while narrow striped bands at the top and bottom provide structure to the composition. The generous spacing between motifs gives the traditional geometric vocabulary a more restrained, contemporary appearance.
Handmade in India from wool, the flatweave construction highlights the natural woven texture and subtle tonal variation of the fibres. Hand-knotted fringe at both ends completes the handcrafted appearance.
