Bring traditional geometric character and sophisticated neutral colour into your interior with this Grey & Ivory Tribal Medallion Kilim Rug from the Trunk Collection. Measuring 170cm x 240cm, this handmade flatweave wool rug combines stone grey and natural ivory with warm taupe, soft beige and subtly layered earthy neutral tones.
The design centres around a large rectangular field filled with repeating tribal medallions arranged in structured vertical rows. Stylised diamonds, starburst forms and stepped geometric elements connect the individual motifs, creating a detailed composition inspired by traditional tribal weaving.
Stone grey provides definition through the outer borders and background detailing, while natural ivory lightens the central field and highlights many of the geometric motifs. Warm taupe and soft beige introduce warmth throughout the medallions, complemented by charcoal grey, mushroom, greige, sand and subtle camel tones that create natural depth within the handwoven surface.
A wide geometric border frames the central field with repeating hooked cross-like motifs, while a distinctive serrated inner border provides further definition. Repeating stepped medallions and narrow striped bands complete the top and bottom sections, giving the rug a balanced and symmetrical appearance.
Handmade in India from wool, the traditional flatweave construction showcases the natural texture and tonal variation of the fibres. Hand-knotted fringe at both ends completes the handcrafted character of the design.
