This Blue Persian Tabriz Rug from the Refurbished Collection showcases the classical artistry and refined workmanship of traditional Persian weaving. Handmade in Iran from premium wool on a durable cotton foundation, this rectangular rug measures 321cm × 252cm and presents a richly layered colour palette that is both elegant and visually striking.
Its deep navy blue field forms the foundation of the design, beautifully contrasted by rich brick red and crimson tones in the central medallion and the wide outer border. Warm ivory and cream highlights illuminate the inner field outlines and floral detailing, while soft sage green and pale olive tones appear within the medallion panels and select floral motifs.
Subtle sky blue accents, along with beige and soft tan transitional tones, soften the overall composition. Muted gold, rust, and near-black outlining add warmth, definition, and depth, resulting in a classic navy, red, and ivory Persian palette enriched with delicate green and blue highlights.
Ornate Medallion With Classical Floral Patterning
The design is anchored by a large, ornate central medallion with a distinctive cross-form floral structure and layered detailing, strongly aligned with Tabriz and Kashan design traditions.
Surrounding the medallion is a dense all-over arrangement of floral vines and palmette motifs that fill the field with intricate movement and symmetry. Elaborate ivory corner spandrels feature bold red floral cartouches that echo the medallion’s motifs, reinforcing balance and visual harmony.
Multiple decorative borders frame the rug, including a wide red main border with repeating floral motifs, complemented by finely detailed inner and outer guard borders in ivory, blue, and soft green.
