Bring light neutral colour and traditional tribal character into your interior with this Ivory & Blue Tribal Diamond Kilim Rug from the Trunk Collection. Measuring 250cm x 351cm, this generously sized handmade flatweave wool rug combines natural ivory and soft sky blue with warm taupe, chocolate brown and layered earthy neutral tones.
The design centres around a large rectangular panel of elongated diamond medallions arranged vertically through the rug. Each diamond incorporates stepped geometric forms and traditional star-like symbols, creating a strong focal point inspired by classic Afghan tribal weaving.
Natural ivory establishes the dominant background and central field, giving the rug its light and versatile overall appearance. Soft sky blue introduces gentle colour through the feature diamond medallions and surrounding tribal motifs, while warm taupe and chocolate brown provide definition across the geometric patterns, outlines and symbolic detailing. Subtle stone grey, sand, camel, mushroom and slate-blue tones add further depth and natural variation.
A decorative guard border of repeating cross-like tribal motifs surrounds the central panel, while a wider outer border introduces stylised emblems and stepped geometric edging. The multiple layers create architectural structure around the central diamonds while maintaining a balanced and symmetrical composition.
Handmade in India from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural woven texture and tonal variation of the fibres. Hand-knotted fringe at both ends completes the handcrafted appearance.
