Bring deep earthy colour and traditional geometric character into your interior with this Navy Blue & Olive Green Geometric Tribal Diamond Kilim Runner from the Anatolian Collection. Measuring 257cm x 78cm, this handmade flatweave wool runner combines deep navy blue with earthy olive green, complemented by cream, ivory, sage green, khaki, moss green, taupe, brown and muted tan accents.
The traditional tribal design features a linear sequence of large interconnected diamond and lozenge medallions extending along the length of the runner. Each principal motif contains smaller central diamonds, creating intricate geometric detail and visual rhythm. Angular geometric forms surround the larger motifs, while narrow patterned borders frame the composition and provide structure and definition.
Navy blue establishes the principal colour throughout the runner, creating the deep overall ground and defining much of the border structure. Olive green provides the second dominant colour, with varying shades of olive and forest green appearing prominently throughout the geometric field. Cream and natural ivory introduce lighter contrast, while sage green, khaki and moss green create subtle tonal variation. Taupe, brown and muted tan add warmth and reinforce the runner's natural earthy palette.
Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn. The interconnected diamond motifs, smaller central forms and decorative geometric borders reflect the influences associated with traditional Afghan kilim weaving, giving the runner an authentic handcrafted character.
