Bring cool, calm colour and traditional geometric character into your interior with this Navy & Teal Geometric Tribal Lattice Kilim Rug from the Anatolian Collection. Measuring 492cm x 302cm, this handmade flatweave wool rug combines royal blue, navy blue, teal and turquoise with ivory, cream, beige and taupe, complemented by sage green, olive green, muted grey, soft brown and subtle lavender-grey accents.
The traditional tribal design features a fine diamond lattice that covers the central field, with each small compartment holding a stepped diamond motif. Ivory lines run through the lattice and give the pattern a crisp, ordered structure. The field is framed by an ivory band with a narrow stepped border, a wide teal border decorated with small blue hooked motifs, and a navy outer edge.
Navy and royal blue establish the principal colour, appearing in the outer edge and throughout the lattice motifs. Teal and turquoise form the broad border and repeat across the field, while ivory and cream outline the lattice and lighten the design. Beige and taupe add warm, neutral balance, with sage green, olive green, muted grey, soft brown and lavender-grey accents providing subtle depth.
Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn. The fine diamond lattice, stepped motifs and layered borders reflect the geometric traditions associated with Afghan kilim weaving, giving the rug a refined handcrafted character.
