Rust & Turquoise Geometric Tribal Diamond Kilim Rug Design 247 × 179 cm

Bring vibrant colour and traditional geometric character into your interior with this Rust & Turquoise Geometric Tribal Diamond Kilim Rug from the Anatolian Collection. Measuring 247cm x 179cm, this handmade flatweave wool rug combines rust red and burnt orange with turquoise and sky blue, complemented by teal, purple, lavender, royal blue, golden yellow and cream accents.

The traditional tribal design features columns of hexagonal and stepped diamond motifs across a rust red central field, each motif filled with bands of contrasting colour. A wide cream border of small hooked and stepped motifs in teal, purple, red and golden yellow frames the field, giving the rug a light, open edge.

Rust red and burnt orange establish the principal colour of the central field. Turquoise and sky blue fill many of the motifs and give strong cool contrast. Purple and lavender add depth, while teal, royal blue and golden yellow accents brighten the pattern. Cream forms the wide border and keeps the overall look fresh.

Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn. The dense columns of multicoloured motifs inside a light border reflect the decorative traditions associated with Afghan kilim weaving, giving the rug a vivid handcrafted character.

With its 247cm x 179cm proportions, this kilim fits comfortably in a living room beneath a 3-seater sofa with the front legs on the rug, or in a bedroom at the foot of a double bed. Its bright rust, turquoise and purple palette suits Eclectic and Organic Bohemian interiors particularly well.
