Tan, Brown & Cream Vintage Shirwan Tribal Geometric Medallion Rug 198 × 125 cm

A distinctive handmade Vintage Shirwan rug featuring four large repeating geometric medallions and cartouche-like motifs arranged across the field. Strong angular outlines, diamond-shaped extensions and linear arrow-like detailing give the design its characteristic tribal appearance, while smaller motifs and stylised branch and leaf forms decorate the surrounding field.

Warm camel and tan tones feature prominently throughout the central motifs and patterned border, complemented by earthy brown and contrasting cream and ivory. Smaller touches of olive, khaki and subtle rust and terracotta add depth to the naturally muted palette. Handmade with a wool pile on a wool foundation, this approximately 50-year-old rug has an authentic time-worn character that reflects its age, traditional craftsmanship and history.

Measuring approximately 198 × 125cm, its compact proportions make it particularly well suited to an entrance hall, reading area, study, bedroom or smaller living space. Age, Condition & Refurbishment

The appeal of these older handmade rugs lies in their authentic aged character. Unlike a new rug, each piece carries the natural characteristics of decades of use, including areas of wear, variations in colour and texture, fading and other signs of age.
