The motifs are set in staggered lines, with ivory and rust outlines enclosing smaller diamond and cross shapes. Without a wide border, the pattern runs almost to the edges and is finished by denim blue end bands with small pink stepped motifs.

Denim blue establishes the principal ground colour, with soft blue-grey tones showing between the motifs across the field. Rust red and terracotta give the main warm contrast, filling and outlining many of the hexagons. Turquoise and sky blue add lighter cool notes, while ivory brightens the small inner motifs. Dusty pink, muted sage green and soft grey accents provide gentle variation.
