Each hexagon holds a smaller diamond or cross motif, and ivory hooked forms appear between them, giving the pattern a lively, scattered rhythm. Narrow plain bands at each end finish the design and keep the focus on the all-over field.

Rust red and terracotta establish the principal colour, filling many of the hexagons and the spaces around them.
