The traditional tribal design features an all-over arrangement of stepped diamond motifs set in orderly rows across the central field. Rows of cream diamonds outlined in charcoal black appear at the top, centre and base of the field, alternating with rows of softer multicoloured diamonds that create a gentle banded rhythm along the length of the rug. A rust outer border edged with small ivory geometric motifs frames the composition, with a narrower teal and multicoloured inner band.

Rust red, burnt orange and terracotta establish the principal colour, filling the outer border and much of the ground between the diamonds. Turquoise, teal and soft aqua provide the main cool contrast throughout the field, while cream and ivory define the lighter diamond rows. Charcoal black outlines sharpen the motifs, and mustard yellow, muted lavender, dusty pink, magenta and sage green add layered accents within the smaller geometric detailing.

Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn.
