The traditional tribal design features a single column of stacked rectangular panels running the length of the runner, each holding a hexagonal medallion with a stepped inner motif. Small hooked and stepped forms fill the spaces around the medallions, while a sage green border of repeating geometric motifs and a narrow terracotta outer edge frame the composition.

Terracotta and rust establish the principal colour, appearing in the outer edge, the panel grounds and the medallion outlines. Soft sage green forms the main border and surrounds several medallions, giving the runner a calm counterbalance. Cream highlights the medallion centres and the stepped motifs, while dusty pink, pale yellow, light blue and lilac accents add softer detail throughout.

Handmade in Afghanistan from wool, the traditional flatweave construction highlights the natural texture and tonal variation of the yarn.
