A handmade Aqcha rug from the Aqcha region of northern Afghanistan, with a deep red field holding rows of large black octagonal guls, four across and seven down. Small black cross and star shapes sit between the guls, and several bands of red and black geometric borders frame the field.
It is a handmade wool rug with a short, even pile and grey fringes at both ends. This large size suits a living room, the space under a dining table or a large bedroom.
